As an experienced school law attorney, Craig Peters concentrates his practice on representing and advising education institutions throughout Washington on a wide variety of complex legal issues.

Craig takes a client-centered approach to providing options-based advice, general counsel services, and representation to schools on matters ranging from special education and civil rights to public records and employment. He also has extensive experience advising on tort liability, privacy, student safety, supervision, and discipline. In addition, Craig has assisted in drafting model board policies and procedures, and has counseled districts on policy implementation and compliance.

Craig previously worked as a neutral staff attorney with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR), where he investigated and resolved complaints of discrimination against education institutions and public entities. In this role, he also frequently provided trainings, presentations, and technical assistance on civil rights issues. Craig began his legal career with another Seattle-based law firm, where his practice focused on school districts.

Outside of work, Craig has diverse interests, such as playing music, basketball, and studying comparative religion.
