Galen is an experienced litigator in state and federal courts, with a background advising government agencies.
Galen Knowles’s practice focuses on representing public, private, and nonprofit clients at every stage of litigation in both state and federal courts.
Galen also has a background advising government clients. Before joining Pacifica, he was an attorney at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in Washington, D.C. He advised the agency’s leadership on administrative and constitutional law, enforcement initiatives, and defensive litigation. He also interned in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and has a master’s degree in public administration.
After law school, Galen served as a law clerk to the Honorable Morgan Christen of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and to the Honorable Timothy L. Brooks of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. During law school, Galen was the Chief Articles Editor of the Washington University Law Review and taught constitutional law at a public high school in St. Louis, Missouri.
Galen grew up in the woods of Pend Oreille County in northeast Washington. In his free time, he enjoys skateboarding, cooking, and watching and discussing movies.
