“Murray isn’t trying to get rid of single-family homes in Seattle, but his proposed housing plan would shift about 6 percent of single family zones to low-rise residential in and around urban villages and near major arterial roads, allowing for multi-family developments there. Murray’s plan also aims to promote backyard cottages and mother-in-law units in existing single-family zones. Note: The plan would not require you to house your mother-in-law in your backyard.”
