Pacifica Law Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Erica Coray and Anita Khandelwal to partnership, effective January 1, 2026. Both are members of Pacifica’s Litigation Practice Group.

Coray joined the firm as an associate in March 2023, and has established herself as a key member of the litigation team. She has contributed significantly to the firm’s work supporting the Washington State Attorney General’s Office in successfully defending against litigation related to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, including in the high-profile, multi-million-dollar lawsuit brought against Washington State University by its former head football coach, Nick Rolovich. Coray has also built expertise in advising nonprofit clients on governance and compliance issues, and has grown her practice to include labor and employment law and reproductive rights. Her work in the community includes serving on the advisory board of a nonprofit that supports the educational goals of children in foster care.

Khandelwal came to Pacifica as Of Counsel in November 2024, after serving as director of the King County Department of Public Defense. At Pacifica, Khandelwal advises clients on labor and employment matters, and on the evolving federal policy landscape, including on issues related to immigration and diversity, equity, and inclusion. She has also successfully defended state agencies in litigation related to COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Khandelwal has also emerged as an important mentor to Pacifica’s associates, and will lead the firm’s Summer Associate Program in 2026.

“We are excited for Anita and Erica to join the Pacifica partnership,” said Managing Partner Denise Stiffarm. “They are excellent attorneys who consistently deliver for our clients and care deeply about serving others through their work. They are also thoughtful and generous colleagues. We look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow their practices.”
