Pacifica is proud to announce that Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell has appointed Pacifica litigation partner Kai Smith to the city’s Ethics and Elections Commission (SEEC), a committee of citizen volunteers responsible for administering and enforcing municipal codes related to ethics, elections, lobbying, and whistleblower protection. The SEEC also administers the city’s Democracy Voucher Program.
Earlier this week, the Seattle City Council approved Kai’s appointment for a three-year term. Kai joins Pacifica litigation partner Zach Pekelis on the SEEC. Zach currently serves as Chair of the Commission.
Kai’s appointment to the SEEC reflects his ongoing commitment to public service. He is also a board member of the Washington State Budget & Policy Center and serves on the Pro Bono Committee of the Federal Bar Association for the Western District of Washington.
