Pacifica Law Group is delighted to introduce our 2026 Summer Associates: Jasmyn Copeland, Josh Mitchell, and Sophie Ossorio. This year’s class of summer associates brings to Pacifica a diverse spectrum of professional and lived experience, and a shared desire to serve others through their work.
Pacifica’s Summer Associate program is central to the firm’s commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession. Our program focuses on recruiting and providing opportunities to law students from communities and backgrounds historically underrepresented in the legal field. Summer associates work in our office in Seattle and are exposed to a broad range of meaningful work and educational experiences.
“We are excited to welcome Jasmyn, Josh, and Sophie to Pacifica, and look forward to learning more about their ambitions and aspirations,” said firm Managing Partner Denise Stiffarm. “All of us at Pacifica appreciate the opportunity to share with them our experiences and understanding of the legal profession at this important time in their lives and careers.”
Jasmyn Copeland is a rising second-year law (2L) student at Gonzaga University School of Law and a fellow of the Legal Employers Advancing Diversity Program (LEAD-WA), which provides internship opportunities to law students from communities that are traditionally underrepresented in the legal profession. Jasmyn was also a fellow of the University of California Los Angeles Law Fellows program and earned her B.S. in political science from the University of California, Riverside.
Josh Mitchell is a rising 2L at the University of Washington School of Law. Prior to entering law school, Josh served as president of the Freeport Economic Development Corporation, a public nonprofit corporation in Freeport, Texas. Josh was also previously a public school teacher and earned his B.S. in urban and regional planning from Texas State University.
Sophie Ossorio is also a rising 2L at the University of Washington School of Law and is a 2026 Gregoire Fellow. Gregoire Fellows spend their summers working at both a Seattle-area law firm and either a Seattle-based corporation or government agency. Sophie is spending the first part of her summer at Amazon before coming to Pacifica. A former intelligence analyst, Sophie earned both her B.A. in Near East Studies and her M.A. in Middle East Studies from the University of Washington.
The application window for the 2027 Pacifica Law Group Summer Associate program will open in early December, 2026. Follow Pacifica on LinkedIn to stay up to date on our Summer Associate program opportunities.
