Pacifica Attorneys to Present at WSAMA 2024 Fall Conference on Public Finance Developments, Building Performance Standards, and Best Practices for Municipalities in Court
Pacifica Law Group attorneys Stacey Crawshaw-Lewis, Deanna Gregory, Erik Jennings, and Matthew J. Segal will share expertise and experience in sessions at the Washington State Association of Municipal Attorneys (WSAMA) 2024 Fall Conference this week in Tacoma.
The twice-yearly WSAMA conferences bring together city attorneys, county prosecutors, and other municipal attorneys from across the state to learn about and discuss legal issues and other challenges facing municipalities.
Deanna and Stacey will moderate the Finance, Revenue, and Tax Roundtable on Thursday afternoon.
On Friday morning, Erik and Nicole DeNamur, owner of Climate Aligned Law, will co-present “Building Performance Standards and Leases—Considerations and Opportunities for Public Entities,” which will address Building Performance Standards and the Clean Buildings Act (CBA) as they relate to public entities that own and lease buildings.
Also on Friday, Matt will present “Municipalities in Court—Notes from the Bench and the Bar,” in which he will share observations for best practices for municipal entities that end up in court. Recently retired from serving on the King County Superior Court, Matt will draw on his experience on the bench and from his 20 years practicing municipal law to offer dos and don’ts (and definitely don’ts) from the perspectives of both a litigant and judge.
